Brief Bio

Dr Ajai R. Singh MD is a senior Psychiatrist practising in Mulund, an eastern suburb of Mumbai. A former alumni of St Xaviers and GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, he has been President of the Bombay Psychiatric Society and is currently Co-Chair of the Indian Psychiatric Society's Task Force on 'Creativity and Mental Health'.

He is also Editor of an international PubMed Indexed Journal called "Mens Sana Monographs". (www.msmonographs.org ) devoted to the 'understanding of 'Medicine, Mental Health, Mind, Man, Music and their Matrix'

He is also a biomedical researcher, having written extensively on bio-ethical issues and the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr Singh is also a Singer-Music Composer- Poet having undergone training in North Indian Classical Music for 25 years from his revered Guruji Shri Vinayak Kunte.

He has taken up the task of decoding Ghalib ghazals and shers and making them intelligible to a wider intelligent, cosmopolitan audience.

He has presented many Concerts on Ghalib and his own original compositions. All presentations in these Concert are original musical scores. Dr Singh intends to musically compose all ghazals from the "Deewan-e-Ghalib' in their complete form and each in a different raga.

He is also Founder President of a not-for-profit musical organisation called 'Swara Sampada', which has branches in Mulund, Thane, Lonavla, Pune and Nashik. It is meant to help in the evolution of "Bathroom singers to Living room singers, Living room singers to Stage singers and Stage singers to Playback singers and Composers".
